Showrooms and Exhibits

We've expanded The Event Playground beyond linear storytelling - Keynotes, for example - into non-linear storytelling, empowering clients to optimize content for all types of brand experience featuring numerous screens, each playing a unique piece of content within a single environment - tradeshows, exhibits, festival activations, showrooms and so much more.

Event Playground: Transforming Showrooms, Exhibits, and Conferences with Seamless Content Previsualization

When it comes to large-scale events like showrooms, exhibits, and conferences, the challenge of managing multiple screens and diverse content can be overwhelming. Traditionally, ensuring that every piece of content fits perfectly within its intended space has been a complex task, often leaving teams guessing until the last minute. However, with Event Playground, this process becomes not only manageable but intuitive and efficient.

Expanding Beyond Keynotes: Event Playground for Exhibitions and Conferences

At Mile 80, we've been showcasing the power of Event Playground primarily through its application in keynotes and large presentations. But the versatility of this tool extends far beyond those uses. Now, we're excited to demonstrate how Event Playground is revolutionizing the way we approach exhibitions, trade shows, and conferences.

Imagine walking through a trade show floor, where multiple screens—each with its own unique loop of content—are playing simultaneously. The ability to previsualize how these screens will interact within the space, from different angles and perspectives, is invaluable. Event Playground offers this capability, allowing you to experience your event as it will appear in real life, whether you’re viewing it from the best seat in the house or the most challenging corner of the venue.

A Closer Look: Event Playground at CES with Siemens

One of the standout projects that highlights Event Playground’s potential is our work with Siemens at CES. Partnering with Freeman, we were tasked with creating a complex exhibit featuring content spread across 12 different screens, each running its own loop. This wasn’t just a linear story—it was an intricate setup where every piece of content needed to be perfectly synchronized with its surroundings.

Event Playground allowed us to walk through the exhibit virtually, fly around with a drone camera, and capture both photos and videos of the content in action. What makes this especially powerful is the incorporation of spatial audio, which enhances the experience by allowing users to hear the content based on their location within the virtual space. This is particularly important in environments where multiple audio and visual elements are playing simultaneously, as it helps to create a more realistic and immersive preview.

The Power of Previsualization in Complex Environments

One of the key advantages of using Event Playground for exhibitions and conferences is the ability to see all content in situ—that is, within the actual environment it will be displayed in. When you have multiple screens, varying content formats, and different visual elements, it’s crucial to understand how everything will look and feel together. Event Playground allows you to do just that, providing a holistic view that simply isn’t possible with traditional tools.

For example, when designing the Siemens CES exhibit, we needed to understand how glowing lines on a screen would look next to other visual elements. By using Event Playground, we could instantly see how these elements interacted, making it easier to make design decisions and adjustments on the fly. This capability is particularly beneficial for projects involving large, complex installations, where multiple screens and content types must coexist harmoniously.

Easy Updates and Iterative Design

Another major benefit of Event Playground is its flexibility when it comes to updating content. In a dynamic event environment, changes are inevitable. Whether it’s swapping out a piece of content, adjusting a screen’s layout, or testing a new design, Event Playground makes it easy to implement these updates in real time.

Designers can quickly update screens with new content, and teams can click through each screen individually to see how the changes affect the overall experience. This non-linear approach to previsualization is especially useful for events with thousands of screens, each requiring unique content. Event Playground simplifies the process, allowing for quick iterations and ensuring that everything is perfect by the time the event goes live.
